Speech Language Pathologist PRN Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Vertis Therapy in Michigan City, IN. As a PRN Speech Language Pathologist, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and contribute to the growth and development of our Assisted Living community.

Job Summary

The Speech Language Pathologist will evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, hearing, swallowing, and cognitive deficits. You will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide support and information within the area of speech therapy.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough functional assessments of patients using standardized procedures
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
  • Record patient progress and revise treatment plans as needed
  • Orient patients to program services and treatment procedures
  • Work with nursing staff, patients, and families to maximize patient use of functional abilities
  • Establish and instruct patients and families in exercises and therapeutic procedures
  • Participate in the quality improvement process and respond to results of medical record audits, patient/referral source satisfaction surveys, safety activities, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
  • Master of Science degree in Speech/Language Pathology
  • Current license/certification in the state of practice
  • Prefer minimum one (1) year experience in geriatric rehabilitation
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adequate computer skills to complete required job duties and computerized documentation
