Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Primate Behavioral Specialist to join our team at Insight Global. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance on animal behavior and welfare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with veterinarians and area managers to develop tailored behavioral programs for nonhuman primates.
  • Conduct behavioral observations and assessments to determine social compatibility and develop plans for social introductions.
  • Design and implement enrichment and behavior tasks to support the well-being of animals in various departments.
  • Train site staff on nonhuman primate natural history and behavior.
  • Audit and develop department SOPs to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

  • Some level of experience working with animals is required.
  • Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and cleaning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior behavioral study of nonhuman primates.
  • Understanding of the Animal Welfare Act and its application to nonhuman primate welfare.
  • AALAS Certification at the LAT level is a plus.
