Culinary Aide

About the Position: Meals on Wheels Yolo County, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Culinary Aide/Kitchen Assistant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with meal preparation, packaging, and delivery, as well as maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with meal preparation, including food preparation, portioning, and packaging
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to proper food handling and sanitation procedures
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet deadlines and ensure efficient meal preparation and delivery
• Participate in ongoing training and education to enhance culinary skills and knowledge
• Provide exceptional customer service to meal recipients and stakeholders

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary experience preferred
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks
• Valid California driver's license and proof of insurance
• ServSafe Food certification (MOW will provide training if necessary)

Compensation and Benefits:

This part-time position offers a competitive hourly rate of $20.00 per hour, non-exempt status, and access to benefits including vacation time-off accrual, paid holidays, and optional participation in a 401(k) retirement savings plan.
