Position Overview

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for conducting cycle counts and inspections to maintain high levels of inventory accuracy and ensure efficient processing of customer returns and restocking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inventory counts, including RF cycle counting, location audits, and recounts.
  • Analyze completed inventory counts and variances to assess the need for further investigation or recounts.
  • Prepare and disseminate departmental reports utilizing Excel or other established tracking systems.
  • Perform product evaluations to verify compliance with established specifications, including sorting and identifying products for restocking or write-off.
  • Examine inventory in Problem Bins to identify and rectify issues with items, determining appropriate actions such as stock adjustments or write-offs.
  • Conduct final inventory checks prior to customer order fulfillment, verifying item locations and reviewing transaction history to locate missing inventory.
  • Manage customer returns by sorting, inspecting, and updating claims in the inventory management system.
  • Facilitate inbound and outbound audits, including receipts, returns, and outbound orders.
  • Assist in the putaway process for products processed through claims.
  • Comply with established safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with the distribution center team to support various operational areas as needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration with team members.
  • Proficient training abilities, capable of presenting materials and conducting hands-on training.
  • Adept at analyzing data to identify root causes and recommending process improvements.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Solid understanding of inventory and warehouse systems, with insight into their integration.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to address issues professionally.
  • Ability to independently identify and resolve problems with minimal supervision.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the company’s product line.
  • Proficient in using basic warehouse tools and equipment.
  • Certification to operate motorized equipment may be required.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Flexibility in work schedule, including availability for overtime.
