Cytotechnologist Specialist

Job Title: Cytotechnologist Specialist Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Cytotechnologist Specialist to join our team at Sonic Healthcare. As a Cytotechnologist Specialist, you will play a vital role in the patient care process by examining prepared slides with a microscope to detect evidence of abnormalities. You will report negative Pap Test cases and refer abnormal cases to pathologists for review. Your expertise will also include reading Non-GYN specimens and reporting findings to pathologists for final diagnosis. Responsibilities: * Perform a vital part of the patient care process through examining prepared slides with a microscope to detect evidence of abnormalities * Report negative Pap Test cases and refer abnormal cases to pathologists for review * Read Non-GYN specimens and report findings to pathologists for final diagnosis * Document for each 24-hour period, the total number of slides examined or reviewed in the laboratory * Document the number of hours spent examining slides in each 24-hour period * Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment * Champion safety, compliance, and quality control Requirements: * Graduation from an accredited school of cytology * Cytotechnologist certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists * Critical thinking, complex problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills * Ability to operate general laboratory equipment and have basic computer skills Preferred Qualifications: * 2+ years of laboratory training or experience What We Offer: * Appreciation for your work * A feeling of satisfaction that you've helped people * Opportunity to grow in your profession * Free lab services for you and your dependents * Work-life balance, including Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays * Competitive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance * Help saving for retirement, with a 401(k) plus a company match * A sense of belonging - we're a community Confidentiality: This role will have routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI).
