Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Plant Operator to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in Salado, TX. As a Plant Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining crushing and screening equipment, monitoring conveyor belts, and ensuring the efficient and safe workflow of quarry material.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and program automated crushing and screening equipment to produce high-quality aggregate material.
  • Monitor gauges and equipment to maintain proper material flow on belts, crushers, and screens.
  • Maintain strong communication with plant employees to ensure efficient and safe workflow.
  • Identify and select suitable material to meet job specifications.
  • Communicate with quality control personnel and make adjustments to material blends as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance on conveyor belts and crushing equipment, including splicing, replacing idlers, pulleys, drive belts, bearings, and cleaning and lubrication.
  • Shut down equipment in emergency situations, blockages, or end of shift, and coordinate/assist in required repairs.
  • Operate haul trucks, skid steers, or other heavy machinery as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of prior experience in the aggregate industry preferred, with experience in aggregate plant operation and maintenance a plus.
  • Highly dependable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience operating mobile equipment and machinery a plus.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, reaching, grasping, squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements, and use of wrists and feet.
