Job Overview:

At Saxon Global, we are seeking a dedicated professional to enhance our software engineering practices, merging Application Development with Operations. This role focuses on crafting solutions that elevate the efficiency of code deployments through the use of automated, secure, and adaptable tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in the assessment, design, and development of technical specifications, programming, and testing of DevOps components.
  • Participate in design and scripting evaluations to ensure adherence to design and enterprise programming standards. Assist in the formulation or revision of enterprise standards when necessary.
  • Support team members in resolving issues related to scalability metrics, integration challenges, and critical production incidents as needed.
  • Adhere to best practices in technology and escalate any concerns as appropriate. Follow architectural and design best practices as guided by senior engineering staff.
  • Contribute to the configuration and scripting efforts to establish fully automated infrastructure provisioning, image creation, and instance deployment capabilities.
  • Comply with standard change control and configuration management protocols.
  • Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation to support the platform.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • A strong motivation to automate repetitive processes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative spirit to work with diverse teams.
  • Proven experience in DevOps methodologies, infrastructure management, and scripting/programming.
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certifications such as KCNA, CKA, and/or CKAD.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes in an enterprise context.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g., OpenStack, Azure, AWS), containerization concepts (e.g., Docker), infrastructure deployment tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Terraform), and CI/CD tools (e.g., ArgoCD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
