Veterinary Assistant-Surgery Specialist

At Newtown Veterinary Specialists, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant-Surgery Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our surgical team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our veterinarians and technicians in the operating room.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist veterinarians and technicians with surgical procedures, including preparing patients, scrubbing, and maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
- Provide top-notch patient care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring the comfort and safety of patients.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and surgical procedures.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and best practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- One or more years of experience in a veterinary environment, preferably in a surgical setting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift and move patients, as well as stand for long periods of time.
- Certification as a veterinary technician (CVT) or registered veterinary technician (RVT) preferred.
