About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at A&E Pharmacy in Arden Hills, MN. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing pharmaceutical services to patients in long-term care facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medication Dispensing:
  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately according to prescriptions and physician orders, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Verify medication orders and patient information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Patient and Facility Interaction:
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, including doctors and nurses, to clarify medication orders and resolve discrepancies.
  • Provide necessary medication information to long-term care facilities.
  • Record Keeping and Documentation:
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including medication profiles and history.
  • Document medication dispensing activities and relevant interactions or changes.
  • Monitor medication inventory levels and assist with ordering and restocking as needed.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and patient safety.
  • Conduct regular checks and audits to ensure medication dispensing and record-keeping accuracy.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; completion of a pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is required, along with state certification/licensure as per local regulations.
  • Prior experience in a pharmacy setting, particularly in long-term care or closed-door pharmacies, is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy software and technology is essential.
  • The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of drug interactions, contraindications, and pharmaceutical terminology is necessary.
