RAYUS Radiology is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Area Lead PET/CT Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing PET and PET/CT procedures with precision and accuracy, ensuring high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Imaging (55%)
  • Screen patients before examination for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Perform all required PET and nuclear medicine procedures through proper positioning and technique, consistently demonstrating good judgment in evaluating the diagnostic studies.
  • Explain and prepare patients for procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned, and providing patient support by talking to patients throughout the procedure.
  • Monitor the condition of any patient within the department and assist the radiologist in performing needed medical attention, if applicable.
  • Conduct examinations with regard to patient's age, condition, or other special requirements, demonstrating adaptability and empathy.
  • Assist the radiologist during the administration of radiopharmaceuticals and practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures as required, maintaining sterile environments.
  • Recognize allergic reactions and respond accordingly, adhering to company policies and procedures for emergency patient care.
  • Prepare examination for interpretation by the radiologist, including correct identification and processing of films, adequate clinical history, and previous x-rays for comparison (if available), showcasing organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure safe job performance and maintain a safe work environment as an integral part of quality patient care services.
  • Report contamination to Radiation Safety Officer, upholding responsibility and accountability.
  • Maintain accurate patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS), utilizing technical expertise and attention to detail.
  • Staff Supervision (25%)
  • Evaluate comprehensive knowledge of company policies, procedures, and protocols for all CT technologists, promoting continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with management in staff planning and hiring process, contributing to team development and growth.
  • Manage overall staffing levels for adequate modality coverage at all times, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Monitor and approve timecards, maintaining administrative efficiency.
  • Provide resource and technical expertise to new CT technologists, facilitating their onboarding and success.
  • Initiate and participate in staff performance evaluations, compensation, and development, including performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and/or termination of associates, fostering a culture of growth and accountability.
  • Lead regular staff meetings and employee one-on-ones, encouraging open communication and collaboration.
  • Operations (15%)
  • Maintain PET equipment and ensure it is clean and disinfected after each use, checking emergency equipment to guarantee its functionality.
  • Take corrective action for hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns, upholding a culture of safety and quality.
  • Ensure an orderly and clean work area in all modalities, promoting good safety habits for patients and team members.
  • Cultivate strong patient relations, delivering exceptional service and exceeding expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and internal policies regarding documentation and tracking of safety and licensing-related items, upholding regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain an updated PET protocol manual and software upgrades, staying current with industry advancements.
  • Order necessary supplies according to company guidelines on inventory control, promoting operational efficiency.
  • Assist in patient scheduling, darkroom operations, filing films, administrative billing, maintaining records, or other areas assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
