Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Peer Recovery Partner to join our team at Maine Medical Center. As a Peer Recovery Partner, you will provide one-on-one support and outreach to individuals in the community, at their homes, and/or at the location where they work. You will share your personal lived experience in a way that fosters a healthy relationship, centered on each person exploring wellness, challenges, and new ways of thinking about life and challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop Peer Support relationships with individuals requesting support through one-on-one meetings and telephone conversations via the Intentional Peer Support model
  • Practice with individuals a multiple pathways to recovery approach in a humanizing and uplifting manner
  • Collaborate with the substance use peer support team to stay current on relevant training materials on harm reduction, domestic violence, poverty, and navigating advocacy in healthcare systems
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Completion of, or ability to complete, the relevant training to the position is required
  • Valid Driving license and reliable transportation
  • Experience providing one-on-one and/or group facilitation peer support is preferred
