Job Summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a skilled Utility Person to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient performance of cross-functional duties in plant maintenance, production, and equipment operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and routine maintenance on mobile and plant equipment, including cutting and welding under the guidance of the plant manager or other designated personnel
  • Conduct daily pre/post-shift inspections on equipment and maintain maintenance logs
  • Operate a skid steer, front end loader, and other tools to clean around plant equipment and maintain roadways and parking areas
  • Operate a water truck to limit airborne dust
  • Participate in plant operations, including production, loading and shipping, and quality control
  • Maintain good housekeeping in areas of responsibility and safe traffic flow throughout the site
  • Operate plant-specific mobile equipment, such as excavators and haul trucks, in a safe manner as needed
  • Aid in the training of co-workers as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
  • Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position
  • Have experience in the building materials industry (preferred)
