Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant Specialty to join our team at Quadrant, Inc. as a key member of our healthcare support staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure patient rooms and instruments are clean and sanitized for use.
  • Perform vital signs on patients, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
  • Verify patient history, including immunization records and allergy information.
  • Obtain a brief summary of patient complaints and document any necessary information.
  • Document immunizations needed and review previous visits to determine follow-up plans.
  • Assist doctors with procedures, make patient and prescription calls, and perform sensory screenings as needed.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, including school forms and medication forms.
  • Call hospitals to obtain lab and x-ray results and contact insurance companies for authorization.
  • Complete referrals and referral cover sheets for doctor approval and set up home therapies for patient use.
  • Teach patients as needed, including breathing treatments and newborn care.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment for patients and staff.
  • Attend meetings to stay up-to-date on changes in protocol and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with nursing and front office staff to provide optimal patient care.
  • Assist doctors in emergency situations and maintain current expiration dates on sample medications and formulas.
  • Administer immunizations and medicine injections, following OSHA and Safety requirements.
  • Perform other various duties as assigned, including cross-training in other functional areas.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant Specialty.
  • Recent and strong phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience with prior authorizations.
  • EMR experience, with knowledge of NextGen highly preferred.
  • Experience taking vitals and triaging patients.
  • Experience giving immunizations.
