GeorgiaGov is seeking a highly skilled Physician (Board Eligible) to join our team in Savannah, GA.
Job Summary:As a Physician (Board Eligible), you will provide comprehensive medical services by examining patients, diagnosing conditions, and providing treatments. You will direct nurses, aides, and others in the care and treatment of patients, supervising staff including physician assistants and nurse practitioners. You will refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary, advise patients on healthcare, and coordinate work with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, psychologists, and other healthcare providers.
Responsibilities:- Examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures, and consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health.
- Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
- Complete all orders and document all evaluations, notes treatment, and plans within prescribed time frames and according to established guidelines.
- Consult with referring M.D. as needed.
- Provide emergency medical care.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Medical degree recognized by the Georgia Composite Medical Board (GCMB) and licensure or license-eligible to practice medicine at a state institution or in the state of Georgia as provided by state law. Physician must be Board Eligible.
- This position requires the successful candidate to have a license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia.
- Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Experience in treating persons with serious and persistent medical illnesses, and in providing care as leader and member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Experience working with consumers in adult mental health, addictive disease, and forensic psychiatry.
This hourly position's work hours are Monday thru Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (29 hours per week on average). The individual will be working with and supervising the most qualified and independent extenders. GRHS is contracted with a large teaching medical hospital which takes care of our patients is only 5 minutes away.
This position is subject to close at any time once a satisfactory applicant pool has been identified.
