Dental Assistant Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team at the Kenaitze Indian Tribe. As a key member of our dental care team, you will provide exceptional support to our dentists and patients, ensuring a positive and safe experience for all.
Key Responsibilities- Assist dentists with chairside procedures, including preparing instruments, setting up trays, and passing materials.
- Prepare patients for treatment, including taking medical histories, documenting examination and treatment information, and routing patients for medical tests and services.
- Operate dental x-ray equipment to take digital and panograph radiographs.
- Perform intra-oral procedures as directed by the dentist, including taking impressions, pouring and trimming models, and placing and removing rubber dams.
- Administer fluoride treatments and sealants, and instruct patients on brushing and flossing techniques.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering phones, directing calls to appropriate staff members, and responding to non-technical questions.
- Maintain operatories in a neat and orderly fashion, adhering to infection control measures and standards for clean dental procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completed Dental Assistant program from an accredited school, or equivalent experience.
- One year of recent Dental Assistant experience, including training in dental radiology.
- Valid Alaska Driver License.
- Good oral and written communication skills, and excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to obtain IHS radiology certification within 30 days of hire.
This position requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently, and to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, see, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions. The work environment is a dental clinic, with exposure to wet, noise, vibration, mists or gases, mechanical hazards, chemical hazards, burn hazards, and sharp hazards.
