Job Title: Principal Software Architect

This is a challenging and rewarding role for a technically skilled professional who is passionate about software architecture and design of complex government systems.



About the Role:


  • Lead engineering development teams in all aspects of software development to achieve program and technical success through the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Continuously apply technical knowledge to determine and set technical objectives to analyze, investigate, and resolve advanced engineering problems
  • Evaluate the engineering solution, including the software design, development, documentation, and deployment procedures
  • Communicate engineering status, risks or issues involving system performance, availability, or security to program leadership and the customer
  • Hold technical exchange meetings with government customers to brief engineering design for government review and approval mechanisms
  • Understand, evaluate, and recommend new technologies that can enhance the performance of a software system

Requirements:


  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Prior experience as a Principal Architect, Associate Principal Architect, or proven track record of providing technical leadership for teams throughout the whole software development lifecycle and transitioning capabilities into a classified government operational environment
  • Effective cross-organizational communicator with the ability to work well on a small team in a fast-paced environment that includes the ability to multi-task across efforts and still ensure program milestones and deadlines are met
  • Proven track record of leading agile software engineering efforts across the entire lifecycle including design, development, configuration and integration, testing, and delivery to end users
  • Familiarity with software development in AWS, AZURE or a similar cloud and architecture concepts that dedicate those system designs and architecture
  • Familiarity with cloud services for a Kubernetes software deployment and management solution, virtual machine management, object management, serverless function
  • The ability to perform in-depth system engineering activities and then translate those into actionable software development concepts and implementations
  • Experience reviewing merge requests for technical soundness, adherence to coding standards, and that the solution has been properly tested (to include modifying or adding new unit tests, integration tests, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience working projects across dispersed organizations and geographical locations
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and engagement with virtual teams


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated business acumen and ability to balance technical requirements with business needs
  • Familiarity with software development in AWS, AZURE or a similar cloud and architecture concepts that dedicate those system designs and architecture
  • Experience in software application deployment, virtualization, and containerization
  • Experience with any of the following concepts: satellite communication planning for both individual satellite scenarios and constellations, SIGINT and GEOINT data processing, satellite command and control / C2, satellite tasking for GEOINT / SIGINT collection concepts, advanced mission planning for satellite base operations and payload operation / integration layer
