Patient Care Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Observe and report patient concerns and changes in condition to registered nurses immediately.
- Assist registered nurses with admission, transfer, discharge, and general patient care duties.
- Record vital signs, assist with personal hygiene, and provide patient comfort measures.
- Assist with specimen collection and other patient care activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment to prevent and control infections.
- Report equipment repairs to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Prepare patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures.
- Communicate with registered nurses regarding nutrition issues.
- Assist with administrative tasks to support department operations.
- Answer patient call bells and relay messages to appropriate personnel.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
- Prior patient care experience.
