Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong leader to oversee the effective and profitable production operations at MDI | Minnesota Diversified Industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining processes, procedures, and controls within the assigned facility to achieve the company's objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Development and Implementation: Establish and maintain effective processes, procedures, and controls within the assigned facility to achieve company objectives.
  • Government and Commercial Relationships: Develop, maintain, and report as required to government agencies and commercial customers.
  • Bid and Proposal Management: Oversee bids and proposals for new business opportunities with Federal, State, or local government, and commercial customers.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Facilitate communication between U.S. Government customers and internal departments.
  • Contract Management: Ensure contract modifications are implemented and documented.
  • Forecasting and Reporting: Provide forecasting data and revenue productions.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Provide leadership, supervision, and development opportunities to direct reports.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement programs based upon Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Compliance and Quality: Ensure all work in process (WIP) is properly identified and ensure compliance with work instructions and/or Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
  • Employee Relations and Development: Ensure effective staffing, wage, and performance decisions, and maintain effective employee relations.
  • Confidentiality and Ethics: Maintain the highest levels of ethics and confidentiality.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Employ effective and respectful spoken and written communication skills, and function effectively in a fast-paced, diverse, team environment.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associates degree in business or related subjects, or equivalent experience, and five or more years related experience.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to operate basic computer equipment and peripherals as well as company standard software, and ability to effectively perform all basic mathematical functions.
  • Industry Knowledge: Ability to effectively read and interpret industry-specific documentation.
  • Certifications and Background Checks: Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check, satisfactory completion of a Motor Vehicle Record Check, and verified eligibility for employment in the United States.
Work Environment

This role requires a traditional work week (M-F) with MDI core hours, with occasional work during non-traditional hours. The work environment is a typical factory environment with high noise levels, machinery, conveyors, dust, chemicals, and temperature fluctuations.
