We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Specialist I to join our team at UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central, Colorado Springs. In this rewarding role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients with behavioral health needs.
About the Role:
As a Behavioral Health Specialist I, you will collaborate with the care team to provide a supportive and therapeutic environment for patients. You will continually monitor and document patient coping mechanisms, providing crisis intervention when necessary. Your input and recommendations will be invaluable in helping develop the plan of care and assisting in its implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for patients
- Continuously monitor and document patient coping mechanisms
- Offer crisis intervention as needed
- Contribute to the development and implementation of patient care plans
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- 1 year of experience in behavioral health required (effective January 2023)
- Licensure/certification requirements include life support and other certifications determined at the position level
