Job Overview

In the heart of the Direct Mail/print industry, ResourceOne's Moore-ResourceOne Division is seeking skilled professionals to drive growth and excellence in our award-winning team. We're currently looking for a Commercial Bindery Helper to join our crew.


Responsibilities:
  • The ideal candidate must adhere to company policies and uphold professional standards at all times, fostering a positive representation of ResourceOne.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential, with a focus on keeping management informed about production, quality control, repairs, and safety matters.
  • Cross-training on all commercial bindery equipment will be provided, ensuring versatility and adaptability in this dynamic role.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Interpret and execute instructions on job tickets, binding tree layouts, and printed materials.
  2. Prepare all necessary materials for upcoming jobs, organizing them efficiently for each machine.
  3. Assist in starting up equipment and perform routine checks to ensure smooth operations.
  4. Feed various folding machines, including Stahl Folders, MBO Folders, and Polar Cutters.
  5. Maintain meticulous attention to detail during pocket feeding tasks, guaranteeing high-quality output.
  6. Conduct quality control inspections after both machines have finished processing materials, verifying that spines are not rolled, dog ears are absent, and colors are accurately placed.
  7. Efficiently remove completed products from the machines and package them securely in boxes, racks, mail bags, or directly onto skids.
  8. Load stacked boxes onto skids or mailbags weighing up to 75 lbs, then transport them to the mailroom or shipping/receiving department.
  9. Utilize departmental checklists to maintain quality and productivity standards, ensuring seamless workflows.
  10. Prioritize producing work consistently within established quality standards, minimizing defects, and addressing problems before they escalate.
  11. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform basic repairs to minimize downtime.
  12. Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors/ managers when supplies need to be replenished.
  13. Collaborate in preventing loss and spoilage within the department.
  14. Work towards improving time standards through efficient processes and streamlined operations.
  15. Maintain equipment and address issues related to safety, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  16. Promote a clean and safe working environment by adhering to Lean principles and best practices.
  17. Take care of the paper baler and its surrounding area, encompassing Continuous form folders, Forms Cutters, Unwinders, Interstackers, cut sheet folders, and other machinery.
  18. Acquire skills to safely operate a pallet jack and identify different types of folds by analyzing trim/fold samples.
  19. Sustain a tidy and secure working environment.
  20. Frequent and punctual attendance is imperative.
  21. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

Educational Background and Experience:
  • A G.E.D. or High School Diploma is preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of one to two years of printing experience is highly beneficial.

Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Must stand for extended periods, bend, reach, and move around the facility with ease.
  • Ability to operate manual equipment without difficulty.
  • Skilled in gripping, twisting, and turning hands for prolonged periods.
