About the Role

This dynamic position involves overseeing the receiving department, training, directing, and monitoring department staff. You'll be responsible for the success of your department, adhering to company standards, and fulfilling Manager on Duty (MOD) duties on a scheduled basis.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing world-class customer service as a top priority
  2. Exemplifying integrity, responsibility, excellence, and adherence to all company policies
  3. Accurately receiving all incoming products, including date, accuracy, and damage checking
  4. Scanning all incoming and outgoing products
  5. Staging products for efficient delivery to the sales floor
  6. Processing all Purchase Orders (POs), Return Purchase Orders (RPOs), mispicks, invoices, and paperwork timely and accurately
  7. Researching and processing all discrepancies
  8. Communicating with department managers regarding delivery issues and vendor out-of-stocks
  9. Following up on special orders
  10. Operating a forklift and pallet jack as required
  11. Maintaining a clean and organized back room
  12. Ensuring all in-stock products/conditions meet company standards
  13. Training and monitoring department personnel, including assigning and following up on tasks
  14. Working with other department managers to cross-train staff to accomplish all needed tasks
  15. Assisting in interviewing and hiring for department needs
  16. Working with the store manager to address performance and/or disciplinary issues within the department
  17. Opening and closing of store, including DSR and the closing cash process
  18. Handling register functions, including backup cashiering, managing customer returns, addressing customer complaints, and covering register shift changes, including those for scheduled breaks
  19. Maintaining the safety and security of customers and employees
  20. Occasionally managing business disruptions to daily business, such as loiterers, solicitation, emergency weather situations, and bathroom misuse
  21. Answering customer questions per company standards and policies, including the use of Structure/Function statements and/or statements of nutritional support
  22. Continually increasing product knowledge
  23. Using SAP and inventory management software, running and analyzing reports on BEx, emailing, and utilizing other IS programs as needed
  24. Working a schedule based on store needs, which includes evenings, weekends, holidays, and mandatory store meetings

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to constantly lift or carry up to 10 lbs., frequently lift or carry 11-20 lbs., and occasionally lift or carry 21-50 lbs.
  • Must also have the ability to occasionally lift or carry lbs. with a team lift.
  • Must have the ability to frequently push or pull up to 15 lbs. and occasionally push or pull lbs.
  • Must be able to occasionally use the computer for data entry and use of mouse.
  • Must be able to constantly walk, stand, use fine motor manipulations, grip, bend, twist, turn, and reach outward for the duration of the work shift.
  • Must be able to frequently to reach above chest.
  • Must be able to occasionally sit, squat, kneel, and climb as needed.

Environmental Requirements:

  • Must be able to frequently work with sharp tools and equipment, dust, fumes, and congested worksite.
  • Must be able to occasionally work with noise, cold, heat, wet, humid, outside, heights, and contact stress.
