Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently washes, rinses, and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves within the kitchen area.
  • Assists with kitchen deliveries, ensuring proper storage, organization, and rotation of products.
  • Arrives at the work station punctually, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to perform duties; attends all scheduled shifts, trainings, and meetings.
  • Provides outstanding customer service, promptly addressing customer needs and demonstrating suggestive selling techniques; answers phones and pages in a courteous manner.
  • Enhances sales potential through effective procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products.
  • Adheres to established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation standards, and safe work practices.
  • Ensures a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintains equipment according to Whole Foods Market cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Executes opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; verifies accuracy of signs and pricing. Reports safety hazards and violations immediately.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.

Experience Requirements

  • No prior retail experience is necessary.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • In an 8-hour workday: standing/walking for 6-8 hours.
  • Hand use includes single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • Work involves bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures: below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in both wet and dry conditions.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Proficient in using tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other machinery.
  • May require the use of ladders.
