Position Summary:
We are actively seeking a Fiber Splicing Technician for immediate engagement in multiple fiber communication projects. Candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years of fiber splicing experience. This role requires travel, and candidates residing outside the project areas must be prepared for extended travel with daily per diem reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities:
The Fiber Splicing Technician will be responsible for the meticulous preparation and splicing of fiber optic cables within telecommunications systems. Essential qualifications include:
- A solid understanding of telecommunications network architecture.
- Familiarity with fiber optic cables, splice enclosures, and their functionalities.
- Proficiency in using OTDR and fusion splicing equipment.
- Ability to interpret fiber matrices and analyze data effectively.
- Skill in identifying and troubleshooting issues.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fiber optic construction or installation.
- Expertise in utilizing fiber tools and testing equipment, including traffic meters, fusion splicers, power meters, VFL, and OTDR with EXFO Fast Reporter in IOLM format.
- Knowledge of relevant electronic equipment and specialized tools.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- General computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet, email, and industry-specific software.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Accountability and commitment to quality work.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Additional Requirements:
- Flexibility to work varied schedules.
- Willingness to travel to various locations, including overnight stays as necessary. Company vehicles are provided during work hours, but reliable transportation to job sites is required.
- Possession of a smartphone for clocking in and out via a mobile application.
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check (offenses will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
- A valid driver's license for the state of residence and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report results.
- Compliance with obtaining and maintaining an interstate DOT Medical Card and meeting all Federal Interstate FMCSA requirements for operating a regulated motor vehicle.
- Verification of legal eligibility to work in the United States under the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Capability to walk, sit, stand, bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, carry, and lift as necessary.
- Coordination of eyes, hands, feet, and limbs in performing skilled movements.
- Willingness to travel and be away from home for extended periods; this position involves 100% travel or fieldwork in diverse locations.
