Pharmacy Technician Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician is a vital member of the NCH Healthcare System team, responsible for supporting the pharmacist in completing tasks as delegated by Florida law. This role involves a range of duties, including medication order entry, delivery, and AcuDose operation, as well as inventory management, ADT maintenance, and computer/printer operation and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fills stock requisitions and patient medication orders accurately.
  • Performs AcuDose operations (refills, returns, reports, etc.) without discrepancies/errors.
  • Accurately completes computer functions (Powerchart/PharmNet, print operation, charges/credits).
  • Completes assigned tasks in a reasonable time frame, with a focus on generating optimum productivity within the department.
  • Provides assistance to other pharmacy areas when requested by the Director or pharmacist on duty.
  • Offers constructive suggestions and feedback regarding problems and complaints.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the automation system (Robot, Connect RX, Med Carousel, NarcStation).
  • Compounds IV admixtures accurately using appropriate aseptic technique, after completing competencies successfully.
  • Assists the pharmacy technician supervisor with training new staff.
Requirements
  • One-year formal education or training beyond High School.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.
  • Good math and communication skills required.
  • Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of Florida.
  • Maintain National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
