Lead Mechanical Product Designer

"In the role of Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the design and development of new and existing products, ensuring they meet our high standards for functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will utilize CAD software to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings, oversee prototyping, and evaluate material selection. Your strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities will be essential in continuously improving designs for efficiency, performance, and cost reduction.
"Key Responsibilities:
"• Conceptualize and develop assemblies or components according to project requirements, considering factors such as functionality, aesthetics, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness
"• Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of parts and assemblies
"• Oversee the prototyping process, including selecting appropriate materials, to validate designs for fit, form, and function
"• Evaluate and select suitable metal or plastic materials based on performance requirements, environmental factors, and cost considerations
"• Continuously improve designs for efficiency, performance, and cost reduction through manufacturing feedback, customer end use, and engineering analysis
"• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for production processes such as machining, shearing, welding, cutting, forming, and bending
"• Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, BOM's and engineering change records
"• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Operations, Fabrication, Assembly, Sales, Marketing and Sourcing teams to achieve project goals and deadlines
"• Research and Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in industry specific products, and incorporate innovative solutions into product development processes.
