Gentex Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our purchasing department, you will be responsible for directing and planning the procurement of materials, parts, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the purchasing process from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery and quality merchandise.
- Handle requisitions for maintenance, repair, and operating items (MRO) throughout the plant, negotiating the best prices and delivery terms.
- Enter purchase orders in the system, distribute copies to relevant departments, and maintain accurate records.
- Check receivers against purchase orders to ensure accurate receipt of materials.
- Handle returns, shipping paperwork, and maintain communication with vendors regarding production schedules.
- Provide analysis of inventory levels and accounts, suggesting alternatives and cost reductions.
- Focus on continuous improvement, demonstrating good business judgment and adhering to company policies.
- A.A. degree in business or a minimum of two years of experience in procurement.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Ability to express oneself clearly in verbal and written form, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple programs and tasks simultaneously, working effectively in a team environment.
This position requires occasional standing, walking, and use of computer equipment. The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
