Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Precision Machinist Specialist to join our manufacturing team at Proponent Inc.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description

The Precision Machinist Specialist will be responsible for operating lathe machines to produce high-quality parts. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to follow standard guidelines and procedures.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on productivity and meeting deadlines. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with lathe machines and a strong understanding of blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing concepts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate lathe machines to produce first-time quality parts
  • Forecast labor hours involved in producing a part and plan production sequence
  • Write programs and determine necessary tooling to produce parts
  • Set up lathe machines and produce blueprinted parts
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 4-5 years of prior experience working on lathe machines
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing concepts
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of standard operating systems
  • History of working with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
