Job Summary

New Paths, Inc. is seeking a dedicated custodial staff member to maintain a clean and safe environment for our residents and staff. This is a full-time position with flexibility in schedule (1st or 2nd shift).

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine custodial duties, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.

Conduct routine maintenance on custodial equipment and report any issues to the appropriate staff.

Ensure proper care and maintenance of equipment and supplies, promoting a safe and environmentally friendly work environment.

Assist in on-the-job training of new staff members on routine procedures.

Perform cleaning functions specific to assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal project requirements.

May assist or perform snow removal activities and minor maintenance tasks.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Support and adhere to the NPI Code of Ethics, work rules, policies, plans, and procedures to promote a safe and secure environment.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  1. Ability to work with and have a positive impact on individuals experiencing mental health, substance use disorders, behavioral health, and/or legal issues.
  2. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  3. Must be able to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety protocols.

Education and Experience:

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Previous experience in a custodial role is preferred.
  3. Experience in corrections, mental health, and/or behavioral health facilities is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires considerable physical activity, including stairs, and heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds. The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

The work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

The work may involve indoor or outdoor environments.
