Tax Consultant Position
Sacred Heart University is on the lookout for motivated, enthusiastic, and team-oriented individuals to become part of our dynamic tax department.

This role offers the flexibility to work from various locations, with an expectation of in-person collaboration three days a week.

Role Overview:

As a Tax Consultant, you will engage closely with our leadership team to deliver tailored tax strategies for a diverse clientele, including high-net-worth individuals, emerging companies, and publicly listed firms across multiple sectors.

This position provides a unique opportunity to interact with elite clients and gain valuable insights into the evolving financial landscape.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Building a comprehensive tax foundation through effective income tax planning and return preparation for a diverse range of clients, including individuals, trusts, partnerships, corporations, and non-profit organizations.
  • Participating in client consultations and strategic planning sessions.
  • Executing federal, state, and international tax optimization strategies.
  • Enhancing your knowledge of tax legislation and the intricate components of tax returns.
  • Refining your accounting expertise by preparing financial statements, recording journal entries, and generating personal balance sheets.
  • Assisting businesses with tax provisions, international tax challenges, multi-state tax issues, and mergers and acquisitions, among other specialized services.
  • Guiding individuals in legacy planning through estate and gift tax strategies, as well as charitable contributions.
Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, preferably with a focus on accounting or taxation.
  • Expected graduation between December 2024 and September 2025.
  • Completion of educational requirements (150 semester/225 quarter units) for CPA licensure in California prior to the start date.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0, with a preference for a higher major GPA.
  • Applicants must possess authorization to work in the United States. This position does not offer sponsorship for work visas.
