Psychiatrist

Mendota Mental Health Institute (MMHI) is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to join their team. As a Psychiatrist, you will provide direct medical and psychiatric services to patients in accordance with established institution policy, treatment methods, goals of patients, and unit policy. Your duties will include performing psychiatric exams, prescribing medications and treatments, psychiatric consultation with patient and family, participating in and/or conducting in-service meetings, staffing, and case conferences, providing consultation to community agencies, conducting physical health assessments, and training residents, medical students, and unit staff.
Responsibilities
As a Psychiatrist at MMHI, you will be responsible for:
- Providing direct medical and psychiatric services to patients
- Performing psychiatric exams and prescribing medications and treatments
- Participating in and/or conducting in-service meetings, staffing, and case conferences
- Providing consultation to community agencies
- Conducting physical health assessments
- Training residents, medical students, and unit staff
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Possession of a license to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin, or ability to obtain a license prior to appointment, plus a minimum of three (3) years of training in an approved residency in psychiatry
- Board Certification in General Psychiatry is expected within three (3) years of hire
