As an Ophthalmic Technician at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical team. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with the provision of patient care, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of service and care.
Key Responsibilities:- Patient Care: Assist with the examination and treatment of patients, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with minor procedures.
- Visual Field Testing: Perform automated perimetry and Amsler Grid testing to assess patients' visual fields.
- Ophthalmic Testing: Conduct various ophthalmic tests, including OCT and HRT, to diagnose and monitor eye conditions.
- Assisting Doctors: Assist doctors during examinations and procedures, including setting up equipment and preparing patients for treatment.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative duties, such as preparing patient charts, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate records.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and coordination.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in ophthalmology or a related field.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in medical software and equipment.
