We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at George Mason University. As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our campus facilities.

• Clean and maintain common areas, including auditoriums, multipurpose rooms, classrooms, hallways, and stairwells.
• Move and spot clean furniture, shampoo carpets, and strip, wax, and buff floors.
• Clean offices and classrooms, including desks, furniture, and window ledges.
• Restock bathrooms and remove trash daily.
• Communicate with the Lead Housekeeper to ensure adequate cleaning supplies are available.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with department members and the campus community.
• Perform work in a service environment and follow all State, University, and departmental policies and procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• General knowledge of cleaning terms and safety procedures related to hazardous cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to read, understand, and abide by all safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to read and follow cleaning instructions and schedules.
• Ability to practice effective oral communication skills with students, faculty, and staff.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Experience in the use of mechanical cleaning equipment.

This is a full-time position that requires working Sunday through Thursday, 9:00 pm to 5:30 am. The successful candidate will be required to work independently with minimal supervision and may be required to work additional hours in the event of an emergency.
