Position Overview

At TOCA, we are dedicated to nurturing talent and fostering a love for soccer among young athletes. We strive to create an environment that serves as a second home for our participants, where they can learn, grow, and enjoy the game. Our mission is to ensure that every child, regardless of their background or skill level, has the opportunity to experience the joy and fulfillment that sports provide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Soccer Instruction: Deliver engaging and dynamic class sessions for children aged 18 months to 7 years, adhering to the TOCA Kids curriculum.
  • Skill Development: Facilitate skill enhancement through tailored drills and exercises that cater to the varying abilities of each age group.
  • Game Play: Organize and lead age-appropriate soccer activities that allow participants to apply the skills they have learned.
  • Safety: Uphold safety standards by monitoring participants, addressing injuries, and ensuring proper first-aid supplies are available.
  • Motivation and Encouragement: Foster a positive atmosphere that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with parents, providing updates on their child's progress and addressing any inquiries.
  • Equipment and Field Maintenance: Assist in setting up and maintaining the training environment, ensuring a safe and clean space for all activities.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete necessary administrative duties, including attendance tracking and evaluations as required by program leadership.
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of soccer fundamentals with experience in playing or coaching.
  • Preferred college-level club soccer experience.
  • Experience working with children in a sports or educational context, demonstrating patience and the ability to motivate young athletes.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and fellow staff.
  • Passion for creating an inviting environment that aligns with TOCA's values.
  • Interest in soccer and a desire to share this enthusiasm with young players.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Availability for afternoon and weekend shifts, as most youth classes occur during these times.
  • Physical ability to kneel, bend, reach, climb, and stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and move equipment weighing over 30 pounds.
