Power Trader Role

X4 Group is seeking a skilled Power Trader to join their team in Austin. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a fast-growing energy company committed to transitioning to renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize trading positions in day-ahead and real-time electricity markets to maximize value for renewable assets.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities and improve gross margin.
  • Develop tools and processes to support scalability.
  • Assist with asset onboarding and ISO documentation.
  • Manage real-time market risks and opportunities during shift rotations.

Requirements:

  • Experience or interest in short-term power trading and asset dispatch.
  • Attention to detail with knowledge of ERCOT and NERC protocols.
  • Strong communication and prioritization skills in high-pressure environments.
  • Familiarity with ERCOT and renewable technologies (desirable).
  • Knowledge of real-time power markets and regulatory engagement (desirable).
  • Experience with Python, SQL, and risk management (desirable).
