About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Analyst to join our team at General Dynamics Information Technology. As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our clients' systems and networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor system performance and availability using system monitoring tools.
  • Perform initial triage of system alerts to determine their severity and impact.
  • Respond to alerts and incidents in a timely manner, diagnosing and resolving system issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as firmware upgrades, patch management, and configuration changes.
  • Evaluate and recommend security controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security risks.
Requirements
  • Active Interim Secret Security clearance with ability to obtain TS
  • Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive M for Information Assurance Technician Level 1 or Information Assurance Manager Level 1 or obtain and approved Incident Responder certification within 6 months of the date of hire
  • Technical Training, Certifications, or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 1 year (2+ preferred) technical experience
  • Department of State employee or contractor experience preferred but not required
  • User experience with system monitoring tools such Splunk and ScienceLogic.
  • User experience with Tenable Security Center and Symantec Endpoint Protection
  • Familiarity of Cisco Switches and Firewalls and VMWare Products
  • Working knowledge of various operating systems such as Microsoft Windows and RedHat Linux.
  • Strong understanding of network, compute, and storage concepts.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
