Join the Camden County Board of Commissioners team as a Lifeguard at our Aquatics Center

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Lifeguard. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of visitors to our aquatic facility. This includes explaining safety rules to patrons, warning them about unsafe situations, and enforcing policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee activities at the aquatic facility to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons.
• Assist with swimming lessons and provide guidance to swimmers of all ages and skill levels.
• Enforce rules, regulations, and policies to maintain a safe environment.
• Monitor designated areas to recognize signs of danger and respond promptly to emergencies.
• Provide first aid procedures and perform rescues as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of all areas, including the pool deck and surrounding facilities.
• Record and report incidents and accidents in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements:

• Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
• Availability to work varying shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Demonstrated ability to teach swim lessons and communicate effectively with patrons
• Exercises mature judgment and sound decision-making skills

Working Environment:

This position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, hand-eye coordination, physical dexterity, and the ability to lift swimmers of various ages and sizes. The successful candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, think critically, and respond quickly to emergencies. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
