Travel Nurse Labor and Delivery Specialist

Magnet Medical is seeking a skilled Travel Nurse Labor and Delivery Specialist to join our team in Lakeport, California. This 13-week assignment offers a unique opportunity to work with our experienced healthcare professionals and provide top-notch care to expectant mothers.
Key Responsibilities- Labor Support and Monitoring: Assess and monitor the health of pregnant women at various stages of labor, including gathering health histories, vital signs, and physical assessments. Administer medications, including epidurals, Pitocin, and pain relief options, as prescribed, and monitor their effects.
- Assisting with Delivery: Assist obstetricians or midwives during vaginal deliveries, including providing instrumentation assistance, suctioning, and other necessary actions during the birth. Participate in cesarean section procedures by ensuring the sterile field, assisting with the delivery process, and providing immediate newborn care after birth.
- Postpartum Care: Monitor the health and recovery of both the mother and the newborn in the immediate postpartum period, including assessing vital signs, bleeding, and uterine tone. Provide education on postpartum recovery, self-care, and newborn care, such as diapering, bathing, and recognizing signs of illness.
- RN licensure and current registration in the state of California.
- Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing with a strong understanding of fetal and maternal monitoring techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
The pay package for this assignment includes a tax-free stipend amount to be determined, based on 12 hour shifts and 48.0 hours per week. Estimated salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
