About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Albertsons in Irvine, CA. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on diesel tractors, trailers, and trailer refrigeration units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on diesel equipment, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems, using technical knowledge and diagnostic tools to identify and repair issues.
  • Answer drivers' requests for assistance with equipment failure while on the road, providing timely and effective support to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Maintain and repair all equipment, including engines, starting and charging systems, cooling systems, electrical systems, body, wheels, brakes, and suspension.
  • Follow all company procedures and ensure a safe work environment, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Perform all job duties with honesty and integrity, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.
Requirements
  • Prior experience as a Diesel Mechanic or a combination of formal education and directly related experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older, with a valid driver's license.
  • Current CDL license (preferred).
  • Must supply own tools up to 1 1⁄4 size with the proper tool box, including air tools.
  • Ability to reach, lift, and work with objects weighing up to 100 lbs, as well as push and pull heavy equipment.
  • Manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work at ground level and high places.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in close quarters, prone, and awkward positions for lengthy periods occasionally.
  • Mental alertness and good vision to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities.
  • Exposure to hazards exists with respect to equipment, work areas, tools, welding equipment, presses, and other power equipment.
  • Must be able to work full-time.
