POSITION SUMMARY:
We are in search of exceptional individuals with varied backgrounds and experiences who resonate with our vision and are motivated to contribute to academic enhancement. The Academic Support Specialist plays a crucial role in providing assistance to students identified as at-risk in Reading and/or Math. This position primarily involves collaborating with educators to assess and implement evidence-based interventions that support learners in areas where they face challenges. The Academic Support Specialist will also implement and support the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework across the district. This is a full-time position that reports directly to the Principal.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following outlines the primary duties and responsibilities associated with this role:

A DAY IN THE ROLE:
- Exhibit expertise in research-based interventions for Reading and/or Math.
- Participate in scheduled meetings at the staff, district, regional, and school levels as required.
- Assist educators with differentiation strategies informed by student data.
- Support the assessment process within the school.
- Develop and demonstrate strategic intervention lesson plans.
- Implement and support the district-wide MTSS framework.
- Assist schools in identifying suitable interventions.
- Provide in-class support to teachers and students.
- Conduct interventions in classroom settings, either individually or in groups.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to design inclusive interventions.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Specific qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid Indiana Teaching License (ELA/MATH).
