YOUR DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position Type: Temp to Perm

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Powder Coating Specialist to become part of our team. This position involves preparing surfaces, applying coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes on Antenna and Radome products. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of coating techniques, safety standards, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Preparing surfaces through cleaning, sanding, and applying primers or sealants to ensure optimal coating adhesion.
• Applying industrial coatings such as epoxy, polyurethane, acrylic urethane, and powder coat using spray or electrostatic methods.
• Accurately mixing paints to achieve desired colors and consistencies, ensuring precise color matching.
• Maintaining and cleaning painting equipment and tools to ensure functionality and prevent contamination.
• Inspecting finished surfaces for defects or inconsistencies, performing touch-ups or rework as necessary.
• Adhering to safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe chemical handling.
• Keeping detailed records of paint usage, surface preparation processes, and completed projects.
• Collaborating with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.
• Following project specifications and timelines while meeting quality standards and environmental regulations.
• Staying informed about industry trends, new techniques, and emerging technologies to improve painting processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in painting or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in powder coating within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of coating techniques, surface preparation methods, and safety protocols.
• Familiarity with various paint sprayers, including HVLP, electrostatic, and pressure pot/cup gun.
• Ability to accurately mix and match paints and understand ratios.
• Understanding of dry booth painting and paint specifications for required finishes.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Solid understanding of safety protocols, chemical handling, and PPE usage.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Physical stamina to work in various conditions.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, time management, and organizational skills.
