Department Highlights

Role Overview

Exhibits proficiency and operates within the comprehensive scope of nursing expertise, applying relevant age and population-specific standards in the assigned clinical environment. Responsible for the care of residents throughout all stages of preventive health, maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment. Manages care coordination, resident assessments, education, and various nursing interventions.

May assume the role of charge nurse, delegating appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel based on their job descriptions, skills, resident care needs, and the competence level of the delegate. Provides necessary support and guidance to ensure safe and effective resident care and addresses any service-related concerns. Adheres to the scopes and standards of nursing practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and relevant Administrative Rules.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is preferred, including recognized organizations such as CCNE, ACEN, and NLN CNEA. A Bachelor’s Degree in nursing is preferred.

Must possess an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing in the state of practice, or hold multistate licensure if applicable. Must obtain and maintain required competencies and certifications specific to the department.
