Job Summary
Northern Nevada Sierra Medical Center is seeking a skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our team in the Gynecology department. As a key member of our operating room team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during operative and invasive procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
- Monitor and maintain the inventory of surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring that all necessary equipment is readily available.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination during procedures.
- Participate in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities to continuously improve patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Surgical Technician Certification required within 6 months of hire or verifiable hospital surgical tech experience prior to 1/1/08.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in the operating room.
