Job Description

As a Professional Engineer (Project Manager II) on our Transportation team, you will play a critical role in developing ITS, fiber optic, traffic signal, traffic control, signing, and pavement marking plans, as well as performing traffic operational analyses.

You will utilize your knowledge and skills to support our project teams in delivering projects through planning and design, working collaboratively with colleagues across the region to prepare scopes and fees for traffic engineering tasks, organize personnel to complete tasks, and attend technical meetings with agency staff and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement traffic engineering plans and designs
  • Perform traffic operational analyses and provide recommendations
  • Support project teams in delivering projects through planning and design
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the region to prepare scopes and fees for traffic engineering tasks
  • Organize personnel to complete tasks and attend technical meetings with agency staff and clients
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 10-12+ years of progressive traffic engineering and ITS design and operational experience
  • California P.E. certification
  • Experience working with Caltrans and local municipalities
  • Proficient computer skills in MicroStation and AutoCAD and in traffic operations software Synchro, TruTraffic, and HCS
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize project assignments to meet competing deadlines and manage staff
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting to support project delivery
