Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team in Minneapolis, MN. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating high-precision CNC machinery to produce complex parts and components.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is $27 per hour, which translates to approximately $55,840 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek and 52 weeks of work per year.

Job Responsibilities
  • Machining high-quality parts using CNC and manual machines.
  • Reading routing information to determine sequence and method of machining.
  • Layout work, collaborating with Mfg. Engineering related to set up, machining, and tooling.
  • Performing preventative maintenance of machines and equipment.
  • Using electric and pneumatic hand tools.
  • Deburring and hand cleaning parts.
  • Completing necessary QA/Customer documentation.
  • Maintaining a clean work area.
  • Lifting and moving materials using forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane, or jib crane.
  • Demonstrating commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day-to-day work.
  • Performing to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abiding by OSHA and EPA regulations.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a CNC Machinist or equivalent machining experience.
  • Ability to read design prints, understand geometric design & tolerancing (GD&T), and surface finish requirements.
  • Proficiency in operating CNC machinery, vertical turret lathes, bore mills, engine, or turret lathes, radial or horizontal drilling machines, external/internal grinders, and horizontal boring mills.
  • Knowledge of CNC programming and ability to make basic edits as needed.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as key-seaters, broaches, band saws, sanding equipment, grinders, post drills, hydraulic press, and propane or oxy-acetylene heating equipment.
  • Understanding of carbide tooling, feeds, and speeds for the machining application.
  • Ability to be certified in overhead crane, Jib crane, and forklift operation.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting 50lbs.
  • Standing for long durations.
  • Using hands and fingers to operate hand tools.
  • Routinely lifting and moving objects up to 50lbs.
  • Routinely ascending/descending ladders and stairs.
  • Occasionally working at heights or on platforms.
  • Occasionally positioning self in various workspaces, including low, tight, or confined spaces.
  • Routinely remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Routinely using repetitive motions including wrists, hands, or fingers to operate machinery or tools.
