Key Responsibilities- Supervise and Protect Clients: Ensure the safety and well-being of clients in their care, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Represent the Nursing Office: Attend weekly team meetings and represent the nursing office in a professional and respectful manner.
- Transcribe and Administer Medications: Accurately transcribe orders, administer medications as directed, and maintain accurate records of medication administration.
- First Aid and Emergency Response: Provide first aid as needed and respond to emergency situations in a calm and professional manner.
- Review Lab Results and Menus: Review lab results with the Nursing Supervisor and Psychiatrist, and prepare and distribute special menus in collaboration with the Nursing Supervisor.
- Asthma Management: Visit and evaluate asthmatic clients on a monthly basis, or more frequently if necessary, and maintain spirometer readings.
- Teaching and Education: Schedule individual and group asthma teaching sessions, and participate in programs designed to help clients acquire socially acceptable habits of behavior.
- Client Records and Charting: Maintain complete, accurate records of all medications administered, client charts, and other relevant documentation.
- Office Coverage and Support: Provide office coverage in the absence of the Nursing Supervisor, and prepare memos and letters as needed.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, office personnel, and other employees.
- Mental/Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work independently and with others, including other employees, clients, and members of the public, in face-to-face and telephonic contexts.
- Physical Skills: Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Equipment and Computer Software Skills: Computer literate (basic working knowledge of Microsoft WORD, Excel, and Outlook) and data/electronic records program currently in use.
