Job Summary

Thomas Jefferson University is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for conducting nuclear medicine procedures using imaging equipment and radioactive materials to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct nuclear medicine procedures using imaging equipment and radioactive materials
  • Assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries
  • Responsible for radiation safety and quality control procedures
  • Deliver patient care and education before, during, and after diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Thomas Jefferson University
  • Perform diagnostic imaging examinations and dynamic tests, such as radionuclide angiocardiography and coronary artery imaging studies
  • Prepare and administer radioactive agents by adhering to established procedures
  • Maintain daily log of radionuclide doses administered to patients, as well as record of tests performed, diagnosis, and any other pertinent information
  • Maintain all records required by State and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations
  • Calibrate and check all applicable equipment; maintain equipment by performing scheduled cleaning/tests and documents results
  • Implement radiation safety guidelines and conduct proper radiation protection during the imaging process
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Program
  • Experience: 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine department preferred
  • Knowledge of RIS systems
  • Knowledge of PACs systems
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • CNMT (ARRT or NMTCB)
