We are seeking a highly skilled Building Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the City of Enterprise, AL. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing specialized duties in the maintenance and repair of department buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and responsive maintenance on city buildings, including inspections to determine maintenance and repair needs.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on city buildings and related equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and safety.
  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including replacing fixtures, repairing leaks, and remodeling bathrooms.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including replacing bulbs and ballasts, repairing receptacles, and installing and repairing exterior lighting systems.
  • Perform regular maintenance on the pool/splash pad, including cleaning, skimming debris, emptying and changing filters, and repairing faulty equipment.
  • Construct, repair, and maintain park signs, fences, bridges, playgrounds, and other structures.
  • Maintain and repair locks and doors, ensuring secure access to facilities.
  • Perform carpentry construction and repair functions, including painting interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Install holiday decorations and repair roofs and other building features.
  • Paint parking lots and tennis courts, ensuring a safe and attractive environment for users.
  • Develop time and materials estimates for projects, acquire necessary parts and supplies, and perform related duties.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of facilities maintenance principles and practices, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to plan, problem-solve, and communicate effectively with coworkers, vendors, and the public.
  • Valid driver's license issued by the State of Alabama for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, as needed.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role, with the ability to provide guidance and support to assigned personnel.
  • Basic skills in plumbing, carpentry, or electrical repairs, with the ability to develop and implement maintenance plans.
