Job Description

Capitol Technology University seeks a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our faculty as an Adjunct Professor in Astronautical and Space Engineering. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching undergraduate courses related to spacecraft attitude control, including core topics such as coordinate frames, rotational motion, and attitude control subsystems.

The successful candidate will have a Master's or Doctorate degree in Aerospace or a related field, or >15 years of experience working in the aerospace field. They will also have experience in an academic environment, including teaching classes, supporting class activities, and guest lecturing.

The Adjunct Professor will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive course materials that align with the university's curriculum and standards. They will also be committed to diversity among students, faculty, and staff, and will be willing to teach in person.

The ideal candidate will stay current with developments and advancements in the field of spacecraft attitude control, ensuring that course content is up-to-date and relevant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and facilitate class activities, adhering to and meeting all established university policies.
  • Adhere to university guidelines and standards for in-person, online, and hybrid learning.
  • Respond to invitations to make recommendations to the Chair and Dean regarding the selection of textbooks or other required texts relevant to the adjunct faculty member's academic discipline and teaching assignment.
  • Submit final grades no later than 48 hours after the conclusion of the last day of class; remain available to students during the week following the posting of final grades.
  • Participate in student learning outcomes assessment related to the adjunct's teaching assignment as directed by the Chair and Dean.
  • Adhere to all established university absence and attendance policies, guidelines, and requirements.
  • Complete related projects and duties as assigned.
