- Trauma Level: Stroke and Stemi receiving. Level 2 for adults and pediatrics.
- Facility Capacity: 35 beds with 2 trauma bays.
- Common Patient Cases: Includes a diverse range of conditions such as gunshot wounds, strokes, stemi cases, mental health emergencies, and pediatric respiratory illnesses.
- Staffing: The emergency department employs both physicians and mid-level providers, with a typical staffing of 2 MDs and 3 mid-levels during peak times.
- Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1:04.
- Experience Required: Minimum of 1 year of recent ER experience is essential; first-time travel nurses may be considered with over one year of total ER experience.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC; TNCC may be waived for candidates with extensive ER experience.
- Triage Experience: Familiarity with the ESI triage algorithm is preferred.
- Pediatric Experience: Preferred but not mandatory.
- Shifts: Multiple start times available, ranging from 5 AM to 9 PM for 12-hour shifts, with scheduling managed by the department head.
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.
- Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday.
- Emergency Department Features: 35 beds, 2 trauma bays, Fast Track area (8 beds), and a separate triage area.
- Psychiatric Facilities: Separate rooms for psychiatric care staffed by ER nurses.
- Security: In-house security present during peak hours.
- Patient Volume: Approximately 111 patients treated daily.
- Critical Care Management: Utilization of common critical care drips.
- Support Staff: Charge Nurse and Team Lead available 24/7, with nurse aids, LPNs, techs, and paramedics assisting with various duties.
- Respiratory Support: Respiratory Therapists respond to all codes.
- Transport Services: X-Ray and CT facilities are adjacent, with transport personnel available during specified hours.
- Local Candidates: Consideration for candidates within a 20-50 mile radius.
- Orientation: Department-specific orientation consisting of one 12-hour shift.
- Uniform: Caribbean Blue Scrubs.
