Industrial Mechanic Job Description

At DXP Enterprises, we are seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic to join our team. As an Industrial Mechanic, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of industrial equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, and other mechanical systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Repair and maintain industrial equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, and other mechanical systems
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubrication and cleaning
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems
  • Perform repairs and replacements as needed

Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of experience in pump repair and maintenance
  • Experience with rotating equipment repair preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in equipment repair
  • Acceptable driving record required
  • Able to efficiently navigate and use a computer
  • Able to operate a forklift
  • Ability to interact with customers/public in a professional and courteous manner

Working Conditions:
  • Shop environment approximately 50% and field service approximately 50%
  • Ability to work in confined spaces such as pump rooms
  • Ability to climb/descend stairs while carrying tools and/or equipment

Additional Information:
  • Physical Demand: Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Training/Certifications: Prefer OSHA certified, mechanical and/or pump repair training
  • Shift Time/Overtime: Regular Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm
  • Overtime: As Necessary
  • Overnight Travel: Generally, less than 5%
  • Education: High School Diploma
